Visiting Wag Team, Karen and Woody, visit Wendy and Tom in Newcastle.
Wendy and her husband Tom have had dogs all their married life, border collies or labradors, but after their last dog died, neither of them were able to care for another dog of their own. Wendy and Tom both miss their dogs terribly, their house is full of photos and ornaments, and we set about finding them the perfect match; enter Karen and Woody the Sproodle.
It was love at first sight. Woody adopted them both immediately and they were besotted. First visits are always accompanied by the referring organisation, in this case Fiona Carter from Gateshead NHS, and Fiona told us: By the end of the first visit they were all like family. It was priceless to see Wendy beaming the whole time and Tom on the floor playing with Woody. Woody was amazing and so well behaved. It will do them the world of good.” We also heard from their daughter who said she’s never seen her mam as happy in a long time and she talks about Karen and Woody non stop.
Karen and Woody visit every week and Woody’s photo has pride of place in their lounge alongside their other precious dogs.
