#TeamWag’s amazing Great North Runners!
A brilliant team of 11 runners took on the 2022 Great North Run as part of #TeamWag, completing the 13.1 mile city to sea route to raise funds for Wag & Company.
One of our amazing runners, pictured below, ran the full route in a dog costume in support of Wag – incredible!
Some of our special Friendship Dogs joined the crowds to cheer them on with Wedgie and Zorro at the start in Newcastle, Spud by the Tyne Bridge and Millie, pictured below, at the finish in South Shields!
This year’s Great North Run, held on 11th September, was an especially memorable and extremely poignant event as along with the thousands of runners raising millions in much needed funds for charities like Wag & Company, runners also came together to share their condolences whilst celebrating the life of Her Majesty the Queen.
To date our Great North Run runners have raised over £5,400, enabling at least 13 Visiting Wag Teams – our professionally assessed volunteers and their special Friendship Dogs – for a whole year, with more fundraising coming in.
Way to go #TeamWag! We’re so proud of you all and so grateful for your wonderful fundraising to provide special Wag friends for older people in our communities!
