Walk for Wag at Kielder 2022, a great success!

We had such a great day at Walk for Wag on the 17th of September!  88 walkers and 65 dogs –  in Walking for Wag blue bandanas of course – took on the 10k and the 3k walks along the Lakeside Way.  Our bestie Mrs Sheila Moody opened the walks as always and a number of our older friends also joined us for a change of scene;  here’s our album, photos of a lovely day, enjoy!

Thank you so much to everyone involved, the wonderful walkers, our team including our Vet Tim and all the volunteer marshalls supporting the whole event, to the amazing Northumbrian Water staff at Landal Kielder Waterside, Arco: Experts In Safety for all the fantastic walker t shirts and raffle prizes, Feelwell’s Healthy, Natural Dog Food & Treats and Gillian Henderson for donating all the treats for goody bags and for the walkers and dogs on the routes, Rob Burn, Jinger and the Northumbria Police Dog section for supporting us as always, The Hexham Uketeers and the WagNWheels Newfoundlands who couldn’t swim because the water levels were too low but who came to walk, raise funds and provide special cuddles for our older friends and last but not least Costco Gateshead for providing the great cakes!

We’re still counting but we have raised just over £4,000 which provides 10 Visiting Wag Teams befriending older people in our communities for a whole year!  Thank you so much everyone!
