We’ve joined One Lottery to help us fund Wag & Company’s special friendships for older dog lovers.
Wag is the only visiting dog charity to befriend the elderly in their own homes as well as in care or hospitals. Many people have no one at all to visit them except for their Wag friends.
It costs over £200,000 a year to support over 500 volunteers and we never charge anyone so that no one misses out; instead we rely completely on fundraising, grants and donations.
Buying your tickets through One Lottery helps to provide us with regular income so that we can continue to provide our special friendships for everyone who needs us.
Lottery tickets cost only £1 per week, and you could win weekly prizes of up to £25,000! 50p of each ticket sold goes directly to helping us, the remainder is spent on the prizes and the administration of the lottery.
In addition to the main draw, there will also be a guaranteed weekly local winner where a ticket is drawn from Wag & Company players only. The prize will vary weekly and is 24% of the total sum of tickets in play that week. For example, if 1000 tickets are sold by Wag in one week, the local prize will be £240.
It would be amazing if we were able to sell 200 tickets a week which would raise £5,200 per year for us; that’s 13 Visiting Wag Teams making a special difference to older people in our communities.
