Visiting Wag Team Ellie and Toby visit Miss Shirley S in Redcar
Miss S has lived alone for 40 years after her Mum passed away. She has a chronic health condition which is challenging and means she can’t get out independently, and she spends a great deal of time in bed or in a chair alone. She is a huge dog lover; the family always had dogs, but it’s not possible for her to have one of her own now. Miss S had been feeling increasingly isolated and lonely and was, of course, perfectly placed to benefit from her own Wag friends!
Enter Visiting Wag Team Ellie with Toby, who visit every week. Miss S is always thrilled to see them and loves cuddling Toby on her knee, spoiling him with treats and having a chat with Ellie, too.
Miss S’ sister told us how much she loves the visits: “It’s all she talks about until the next one. She loves dogs, and being bedridden and not being able to have her own is really upsetting for her, so seeing Toby and Ellie makes a massive difference!”
