Walk for Wag at Derwent 2024… a great success!
Thank you to the 130 walkers and 98 dogs of all shapes and sizes who walked for Wag at Derwent Waterside on 14th September. What a brilliant day!
Walkers came from all across our North East region to give older people special Wag friends at some of the hardest times in their lives.
There are so many people to thank – to Tom, David and the NWL team at Derwent Reservoir, to Rob and the gorgeous Northumbria Police Dogs Jinger and Oreo, the brilliant Hexham Uketeers, to Feelwells for all the tasty dog treats, Tesco Hexham for many walker goodies and raffle prizes, to Sharon for our walkers chocolate, Costco for the raffle prizes and delicious cakes, to all the Walk Marshalls who gave up their Saturdays to support our event, to Grace “Wag Dog” Jobling for nailing it – again – to Will on photography all the way from Cheshire and Steve on videography for the second year, to the many local businesses for their amazing raffle prizes and to Alex Clark for donating and presenting the Dog Show prizes! Thank you all.
We’re still counting, but so far, we’ve raised over £11,500! Wow, thank you! Don’t forget to check out all the special photos from the day. Here’s a link to our album: Walk for Wag 2024 Photo Album.
Thank you so much, everyone. If you missed it, we’re there again next year; same time, same place: 13th September 2025, save the date!
