Facing fears and jumping out of a plane for Wag! Can you support Helen?

Most years we organise a fundraising Tandem SkyDive with the brilliant team at Peterlee. We’re in awe of the people who pluck up the courage to do this for us and jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet! All to help fund our special befrienders, really amazing!!

This year’s Sky Dive is on Saturday the 12th of July and so far we have 6 ‘jumpers’ ready to go and a small group still thinking about it!  They have to raise £250 to over the dive fee and a minimum of £250 fundraising for Wag!

Helen is ready to go and here she told us why…

“I really wanted to raise some money for Wag who do an amazing job. I have only been a volunteer for a few months with my lovely dog Shelby but every visit is so special; Shelby and I have made a lovely friend with Mrs A who absolutely adores Shelby.

I had a choice of doing the Great North Run or the SkyDive and as I’m 64 years old and I can’t run, I took the easier option (I think)! I thought I may not get this wonderful opportunity again so why not!

I’m looking forward to it even though I am not a fan of heights or flying (!) and I’m not looking forward to the initial jump out of the plane!  It’ll be great to prove I can do it though and to meet other volunteers on the day.

So if a 64 year old who is scared of everything can do it anyone can, so come on and do this to raise a bit money so Wag can carry on with their wonderful work…”

Helen’s already started her fundraising, her friends and family and colleagues at Dunelm are helping and she’s going to arrange a coffee morning too!

Please support her if you can, here’s the link!
