Huge support for the Wag community, LNER supporting 40 Wag Teams!

Such a wonderful gift for Wag this year.

It’s been very special to work with Rachael and the team at LNER and to receive their support through our Customer and Community Investment Fund.

The grant also meant that LNER would fund the production of a video by acclaimed journalist and ex BBC Inside Out presenter, Chris Jackson. A great watch which perfectly explores what we do and why it’s important – don’t miss it [insert link].

Gladys loved it too, she had her own copy for Christmas so she can watch it any time she likes! Thanks so much LNER and Chris.

Thanks to their support, many more Wag volunteer teams can be there for older dog lovers like Gladys.  Like many older people who struggle to get out and about, Gladys goes days and days some weeks without seeing anyone, and she really looks forward to seeing Helen and Jasper. Jasper is “her treasure and Helen is a good friend” too. So simple, so important!

LNER’s support has helped us place 40 new Visiting Wag Teams this year. That means 40 weekly visits to people in their homes or regular visits to on average more than 400 residents and patients in care homes and hospitals right across the region – how amazing is that! LNER, we are so thankful.

We also never get tired of seeing Gladys’ film! Don’t forget it watch it: https://youtu.be/h9db0viyF5k
