Sarah and Friendship Dog Miley visit Mrs C in Gateshead

Mrs C is 83 and lives alone in her home in Gateshead after losing her husband. Dogs have always been a huge part of her life and her home is full of photos of them all, but after she lost her last dog, she got her much-needed doggy fix by walking her sister in law’s dog every day.  This is sadly no longer possible and so she’s really missed having a dog in her life.

Like us all, Mrs C was initially reluctant to have extra support but when the opportunity came to welcome Friendship Dog Miley into her home, she was more than happy to say yes!

Sarah and lovely Miley the Labrador, were originally matched to Mrs C in October 2024 but Mrs C became unwell and moved into temporary respite care. As luck would have it, Miley and his ‘mum’ Sarah also visit a local care home, and they got chatting to a new resident, none other than Mrs C!  She was thrilled to find out that this was ‘her Miley’  and she’d be visiting her when she returned home! The rest is history!
