Welcoming new Community Friends of Wag
Together we’re visiting residents in almost 150 residential care homes across the region and from the beginning we had hoped they would love what we do so much that the care homes would contribute to our costs. Care homes pay for visits from miniature horses, reptiles etc and so contributing to the costs associated with regular visits from our professionally assessed, insured and beautifully kitted out Wag Teams feels fair.
Until recently only a very small number helped, but now that we have so many on our waiting list – over 200 – and becoming a Community Friend with a monthly contribution gets them straight to the top of our waiting list with one visit a month guaranteed, thankfully more are now starting to be interested. Thanks so much to everyone who’s helping us to deliver these commitments and to the 16 Community Friends who are supporting Wag. It’s help like this that means we can keep safely visiting isolated people in our North East communities with no charge so that no one ever misses out.
Our most recent Community Friend is Ashington Grange, part of the HC-One Group.
