Mrs G is 84, and since her separation, she has lived alone in Newcastle in sheltered accommodation. She’s always loved dogs; she had Spaniels and Red Setters in the past, but it’s no longer possible. As she’s lost family and friends in the last couple of years, she’s struggling and feeling quite isolated. Your regular visits and cuddles with your lovely dog will change Mrs G’s world!
Mrs B is 80. She lost her husband and her dog, and she now lives alone in Newcastle. She sees her daughter regularly, but even so, she still spends more time alone than she’d like, and she’s finding her days long and lonely. She really misses having a dog at home – she had Chihuahuas and Corgis mainly – but now she can’t manage a dog of her own, and she’d love to have a new friend to visit. Could you spare some time to visit Mrs B?

Ms S is 86 and has recently moved into a care home because of her health issues, and she’s feeling pretty down. She has had small dogs all her life and is now completely unable to have one of her own anymore. The care home feels that visits on a 1:1 basis from a lovely Wag volunteer and their small, cuddly pooch would really help lift her mood and make her days feel more bearable. Could you be the friend that Ms S really needs?

Morpeth
Miss C is 86 and lives in Morpeth. She lost her beloved Bichon Frise, and the quietness in the house without her little companion has been really difficult. A lifelong dog lover, Miss C has had many dogs over the years, including larger breeds like German Shepherds, and she misses the joy and comfort they brought her every day. She would absolutely love to have regular visits from a Wag volunteer and their friendly dog to help fill the gap and bring warmth and companionship back into her home. Could your dog be the cuddle buddy she’s longing for?
Alnwick
Mr H is 92 and lives in Alnwick, where he’s facing some difficult memory issues. Despite this, one thing that continues to bring him great pleasure and comfort is being around dogs. Regular visits from a calm, gentle dog and a kind Wag volunteer would bring a little light and familiarity to his days, helping him feel more settled and happy. Could you and your furry friend bring a smile to Mr H’s face?
