Catherine and Friendship Dog Dotty visit Mrs D in Stockton on Tees

Mrs D, 78, is a widow and lives on her own in Stockton-on-Tees. She has had dogs all her life, but because of her difficult mobility issues, she can’t have a dog of her own. After her husband died, she found herself feeling increasingly lonely and isolated in her flat.

Those feelings are thankfully now very much in the past, as Catherine and the adorable Dotty have been visiting Mrs D every week for three years, and they are all really great friends. Recently, it was Mrs D’s birthday, and Catherine was all organised to get her home for a special birthday meal!

Sadly, Mrs D had to stay in the hospital instead. Not to be deterred, though, Catherine visited her in the hospital regularly and has promised to cook her that meal again as soon as she’s fully well!
