Helen and Friendship Dog Shelby visit Mrs A in Whitley Bay
Mrs A is a widow and lives alone in her own home on the Northumberland coast. She lost her beloved Westie “Barney”, less than a year ago, and she really misses him – in fact, she’s never lived in a house without a dog, so it’s very hard not having the patter of furry feet in her life.
Mrs A’s health challenges mean she can’t get out as much as she’d like, and she can’t have a dog of her own either, which, having had dogs all her life, makes her feel terribly sad.
Happily, we found the perfect pooch to brighten up her day, and Shelby, the very beautiful Cavapoo, is now a regular feature on Mrs A’s couch! Shelby, of course, brings with her the added bonus of a really lovely two-legged friend in Shelby’s ‘mum’, Helen.
Helen and Shelby have been visiting for almost a year, and we know from Mrs A’s daughter that her Mam tells her she’s completely fallen in love with Shelby.
Lately, Shelby has also been visiting the day centre that Mrs A goes to once a week, and Mrs A has been thrilled to show off ‘her Shelby’ to all her friends there! Lovely job FD Shelby!
