Janet and Friendship Dog Islay visit Mr & Mrs C in Stockton on Tees
Janet and lovely Border Terrier Islay started visiting Mr and Mrs C in their own home last year. They had had dogs all their lives, but for health reasons, it just wasn’t possible to have one of their own again.
The original referral from Stockton Borough Council told us that Mr C absolutely loves dogs and finds he can properly engage in a conversation again when it’s about one of their dogs. They have loved having Islay in their lives.
Recently, Mr C had to move into a care home, which is very hard for them both. Janet and Islay have followed behind and visit him regularly, and they also still visit Mrs C at home. In fact, sometimes Islay joins Mrs C when she’s visiting her husband, and separately she goes and joins Mr C on his walks out with his carers.
It’s very hard when a couple has to be separated like this, but having Wag friends like Islay and Janet helps bring a sprinkle of Border Terrier magic to a difficult time.
