Terry and Friendship Dog Bruno visit Mr D in Newcastle

Mr D is 71, he lives alone in Assisted Living in North Tyneside with some difficult health issues. In fact, when we took these photos, he’d just been discharged from the hospital.

He very sadly lost his partner of 17 years last year and his dog Poppy, a 17-year-old Patterdale Terrier, last Christmas Eve, so it’s been a difficult time.

Mr D absolutely loves having Terry and Bruno in his life now: “I am so pleased to have found Wags, and the weekly visits I have with Terry and Bruno are the highlight of the week for me. I couldn’t do without them now. Bruno is a great dog and as friendly as can be. I love my Monday visits. I love dogs and recently lost my Poppy after 17 years, and I never thought I would have or see another dog – Bruno and Terry are a godsend.”

Mr D’s son also told us the visits are going fantastically: “Dad really loves Terry and Bruno. Bruno is such an amazing dog who really loves everyone. Thank you so much for what you do.”
