Anita and Friendship Dog Harry visit Mr P in Sunderland

Mr P is 86. He lives alone in Sunderland since he lost his wife just eighteen months ago.

Friendship Dog Harry the Labrador and ‘mum’ Anita originally started visiting both Mr and Mrs P in 2023; they’d had Labradors throughout their lives, but could no longer have a dog of their own. They immediately loved their new friends!

When Mrs P sadly passed away. Harry, of course, continued visiting Mr P – they’re real friends and love each other’s company.

Harry never fails to make Mr P smile, and even when Mr P had a fractured elbow, he managed to feed Harry his much-deserved treats. Anita told us: “We’re so proud to be part of Wag and Company; it’s so rewarding to see your dog making someone happy.”

Sometimes they all enjoy heading out for cake and a cuppa too, they’re even talking about a day trip to Beamish. They really love each other’s company, and importantly, Harry never fails to make Mr P smile. That’s what it’s all about, great job, beautiful Harry.
