Another great year for Wag & Company!

With your help we’re celebrating another great year 2025/26, supporting more older people than ever before.

We’re reflecting on another big year for us all in Wag, ending on 31st March 2026 with 474 volunteer Wag Teams, ✨ 536 in total were supported during the year, you’ve all made 51,973 individual visits to older dog lovers, a staggering 220,649 since we started in 2016!  ✨ 2,574 North East people are regularly benefitting!  Phenomenal Team Wag!!

We are visiting 230 Care & Medical Establishments and 194 more are waiting.

Finally we’re absolutely delighted that we are befriending more people 1:1 in their own homes than ever before, ✨ 239 at year end but during the year we’ve supported an amazing ✨ 405 people.  Our home placements have each received an average of 37.5 visits over the 52 weeks of 2025/26 and the average waiting time was 6.4 weeks. What a year!  We also have 40 more ‘almost’ volunteers still in our pipeline going through our assessment processes!

As you know, our aim is that no older dog lover in our region misses human friendship and the company of a dog – and we’re doing a pretty good job so far, but there’s much more to do. Here’s to another year of growth and impact in our community made from Wag’s unique brand of love and kindness ❤️🐶
