Clare and Friendship Dog Leonard visit Miss C in Morpeth
Ms C, 86, lives alone after her own dear Bichon Frisé, Twinkle, passed away last year. She has really missed her and having someone to look after, as well as the general noise of having a dog sharing her home.
Ms C was referred to Wag firstly of course because she loves dogs and she was still grieving her beloved Twinkle. But importantly, sometimes for health reasons, it’s hard to engage in group activities, and a 1:1 befriending relationship at home was just what the Doctor ordered!
Friendship Dog Leonard the Lhasa Apso and ‘mum’ Clare started visiting last year, everyone hit it off straight away, and now they visit most weeks. Ms C absolutely loves them and told us how much she loves having a dog to talk to again and how wonderful it is to “touch something with a heartbeat again.” Of course it is ♥️
Ms C’s daughter also told us that Clare sends her regular updates, and she loves to hear all about the visits!
