Elle and Friendship Dog Willow visit Miss B in Newcastle
Miss B is 82, and she lives in a residential home in Newcastle. She always had dogs, typically Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Yorkshire Terriers, but after she lost her last beloved Cavalier 8 years ago, for health reasons, it was no longer possible to have one of her own.
Miss B used to do a lot of work for the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), including fundraising. She’s a huge animal lover and loves to watch animal programmes. Miss B hasn’t got any family close by, but she has some great friends, and now she counts Elle and Willow amongst them.
Friendship Dog Willow, the Cockapoo started visiting Miss B, originally in her own home, over 2 years ago with her ‘mum’ Elle. They’re the best of friends now, and on discovering they shared the same birthday early doors, Elle told us she knew it was meant to be!
Elle and Willow visit most weeks, and after Sylvia’s recent hospital stay, followed by some time in respite, Sylvia recently moved into a care home, and of course, Willow followed behind all the way, from home, to hospital and now to Sylvia’s new home in a care home. Such a special girl, Willow.
Sylvia’s close friend told us: “The stars must have been aligned when Elle and Willow were chosen to visit Sylvia.”
