Faye and Friendship Dog Benito visit Mrs E in County Durham

Mrs E is 89. She lost her husband some years ago and lived in her own home on her own near Consett originally when Benito the Kokoni and ‘mum’ Faye started visiting nearly a year ago.

Mrs E and her husband always had dogs, but now Mrs E can’t have one of her own, the weekly visits from Benito and Faye mean the world. Benito is a real cuddle monster and he’s adopted Mrs E, always finding his way to his favourite spot on her lap for a huge cuddle! Mrs E’s family are a great support to her, and they also enjoy popping in for a cuddle with Benito, who wouldn’t!

Mrs E recently had to have a stay in hospital, and then she moved into a residential care home, and wonderful little Benito continued to visit throughout, from home to hospital to residential care home. Mrs E’s daughter told us: “My mam looks forward to Benito and Faye’s visit every week and they always put a smile on her face no matter how she’s feeling; they’re absolutely amazing both of them.” Wonderful to hear.
