Older dog lovers in our region who need Wag friends!

Tyne & Wear

Newcastle

Mrs C, 78, is widowed and lives alone in Newcastle. Mrs C has recently been discharged from hospital following a fall and is now home after a period of respite. Having always had Cocker Spaniels, she really misses having a special furry friend and often sits in her front garden with dog treats for the dogs that walk past. Regular visits from a special Wag Team and a relationship with a dog again would make a world of difference.

South Shields

Mrs C, 82, is a widow who lives in sheltered accommodation in South Shields. After having to rehome her beloved Westie, she really misses the company of a furry friend. Most of her family don’t live locally, so she would love to have regular visitors for a chat over a cuppa and some special cuddles from a four-legged friend again. Do you have the perfect cuddle monster who could give Mrs C something special to look forward to?

Teesside

Hartlepool

Mrs T is 88, widowed and lives alone, and she also lost her much-loved dog around 3 years ago, so she’s really sad and missing her loved ones. Her children visit as often as they can, but she’s still on her own more than she would like, and she’s started feeling quite lonely. It would really help her to have a lovely little dog to hug again, a Wag friend for some company, and a regular chat.

Stockton

Miss S, 84, lives alone in her own home in Stockton. She’s had dogs in her life for many years, and after that, she walked dogs for other people, too. She really loves them, and now she can’t have one; she really misses them. Regular Wag friends for company and a hug with a beautiful dog will be just what the Doctor ordered!

Northumberland

Near Alnwick

Mrs L is 78 and now lives alone in a flat in an Assisted Living complex.  She loves dogs and, really sadly, had to rehome her beloved Jack Russell recently after having a fall while walking her. So so sad! After her fall, she is feeling really isolated and lonely, and she’s unable to get out much or at all. She really only sees carers and medical staff now, so having a lovely new friend for a chat and a cuppa, and their lovely dog, will be just what the doctor ordered!
