Katie Russell

I first got involved with Wag and Co when I adopted my ex-racing greyhound Safi. She has a wonderful calm and friendly demeanour, and I wanted to share with others in the community the happiness that a dog can bring. We have both enjoyed getting to meet some of the amazing people in the local community, bringing smiles to their faces whilst hearing some fascinating stories and words of wisdom.

I am also a veterinarian, working in a large practice in the North East and Scottish Borders. I have had a keen interest in animal training and behaviour from a young age, aspiring to specialise further in this field in the future. I am certified with Fear Free Pets and strive to work always using positive and evidence-based methods of training and handling. I even practice clicker training with my horse who now knows a number of useful and fun tricks!

I look forward to working more with this great charity in an assessing role to help enable more dogs to go and share some joy in their communities.
