Keira Hall

IT Director & Trustee

I’m Keira Hall, a Solutions Architect at Waterstons, where I’ve spent the last eight years working across mergers and acquisitions and building trusted relationships with the people and organisations at the heart of them. I’ve been fortunate to work with customers across the globe, navigating different time zones, cultures, and technology landscapes — experiences that have broadened my perspective and strengthened my adaptability. In 2022, I was named Insider Media North East’s Young Digital & Tech Professional of the Year, a milestone that meant a great deal to me as a Woman in Tech. Navigating a male‑dominated industry hasn’t always been easy; I’ve had to find my voice, prove my expertise, and carve out my space in rooms where I’ve often been the only woman. My advice,  Be yourself — don’t change just because you’re expected to be a certain way. Showing emotion shows you’re human just like everyone else. Those challenges have shaped my resilience, my commitment to authenticity, and my drive to create opportunities for others coming through behind me.

Stepping into the role of IT Director and Trustee for Wag & Company feels like a natural extension of that journey. After years in corporate IT — and through the profound identity shift of motherhood, a transition often described as matrescence, even if it doesn’t yet appear in the Oxford Dictionary — it feels like the right time to give back. Wag’s mission, ending loneliness for older dog lovers across the North East, resonates deeply with me. From my early conversations with Diane, it was clear how much the charity depends on strong, sustainable digital systems to serve the community, and how meaningful it would be to help strengthen them. Being able to bring my experience to something so impactful, and to support an organisation that genuinely changes lives, matters to me enormously. I’m excited to help shape Wag’s digital future and contribute to a charity whose values align so closely with my own.
