Older people in need across our region! Can you help?

Teesside

Stockton on Tees

Mrs N lives on her own now after losing her husband. They always had dogs, Border Collies, and she loved their company but for health reasons that’s no longer possible.  She is also having trouble getting out and about now so all in all she’s spending too much time on her own and feeling really isolated; she would love to have Wag friends with two and with four legs to visit regularly.  We’re looking for a smaller dog that can sit on her knee or bed as she’s not going to be able to bend down or stretch to reach!  If your little cuddle monster could be her new friend, please don’t hesitate, all it takes is an hour or two most weeks to make the world of difference.

Mrs P lives on her own in Billingham since losing her husband in the last few years.  She has had dogs all her life and really misses their company but due to some mobility issues it just wouldn’t be possible for her to have one of her own now.  She spends more time on her own than she would like and feels anxious and isolated most of the time.  It would make such a difference to her life to have a lovely dog to visit and for a Wag friend for a regular chat.

Mrs A lives on her own in sheltered accommodation since very sadly losing her husband last year.  She has always had dogs and heartbreakingly she had to give up her last dog due to her mobility issues which was obviously devastating for her.  She feels really isolated generally and from the dog loving community particularly.

Mrs F lives on her own and for health reasons now she’s found herself very isolated and is feeling pretty lonely. She’s a huge dog lover, she always had Dalmatians and Cocker Spaniels of her own in the past so now it’s not possible she misses them terribly.  Regular visits from a Wag volunteer and their lovely furry friend for a cuddle over a cuppa, would really brighten up her life and give her something to look forward to again.

Redcar

Mr E lives on his own and because of his health problems he couldn’t have another dog after he lost his beloved Jack Russell and he now spends more time on his own than he’d like and he’s started to feel pretty lonely and isolated.  He would love nothing more than having a little furry friend to cuddle again and a two legged friend for a regular chat over a cup of tea.  If your little cuddle monster could be his new friend, please don’t hesitate, all it takes is an hour or two most weeks to make the world of difference.

Middlesbrough

Ms B loves dogs but sadly lost her last one and her husband 5 years ago; she really misses them both terribly.  Mrs B has lots of experience with dogs and even had her garden dog proofed in the hope she could have her own again, but this is impossible due to her health issues.  Regular visits from a lovely Wag volunteer and their gorgeous pooch would really make huge difference to her life.

Hartlepool

Mrs T is recently widowed, and she also lost her much loved dog only a year ago, so she’s really sad and missing her loved ones.  Her children visit as often as they can but she’s still on her own more than she would like and she’s started feeling quite lonely.   It would really benefit her to have a lovely little dog to hug again and a Wag friend for some company and a regular chat.

Newcastle upon Tyne

Mr B is a widower and lived in the family home until recently with his beloved Border Collie.  For health and mobility reasons he has had to move into Assisted Living, he’s finding it almost impossible to get out and about anymore and heartbreakingly his move also meant that he had to rehome his beloved dog. Having regular Wag visits with a dog for a cuddle and a fellow dog lover for a chat will be really important to how he feels about the rest of his life in Assisted Living.

Gateshead

Miss F lives alone in small town outside of Gateshead and has very few visitors which has left her feeling depressed and really isolated particularly as she’s unable to go out alone for health reasons now.  She has always had dogs and really misses their company and having a friend to share stories of her own dogs with.  It would make such a difference to her life to have regular Wag visits.

Sunderland

Miss E, lives alone in her own home in Sunderland.  She has always had dogs and misses having one in her life.  She really wanted to have another, but her physical health conditions are a barrier to this as she wouldn’t be able to give a dog of her own the care it would need; this makes her feel really depressed, lonely and isolated.  Regular visits from a Wag volunteer and their lovely furry friend for a cuddle and a cuppa, would really brighten up her life and give her something to look forward to again.

County Durham

Durham

Mr M lives in Durham with his wife.  They lost their beloved Cocker Spaniel only 18 months ago and it has left him feeling very depressed but because of their failing health they are unable to have another dog of their own and as you can imagine he’s very sad and tearful. Can you help and give them a new four legged friend to love and have in their lives?

Bishop Auckland

Mrs M has recently had to move from her rural farm to a nearby village but has said that since the move she feels more lonely and isolated than ever.  She has had small dogs all her life and really misses them, so everyone feels that she would benefit enormously from visits from a lovely Wag team, for a cuppa and a cuddle.  She has an allergy to cats, so if you have a lovely small dog who comes from a cat free home, Mrs M would really love a visit, an hour or two most weeks would make such a difference to her.
