Visiting Wag Team Dawn and Steed visit Mrs Alison S in Stockton!

Mr & Mrs S live in their own home in Stockton on Tees.  Alison is in her 80’s and her husband is in his 90’s.  They do amazingly well with very little help at home much to the concern of their children both of whom live outside the region.  Their son actually persuaded his mum to get involved with Wag.

Alison had some surgery two years ago which didn’t go as well as she’d hoped and heartbreakingly it resulted in her beloved greyhound having to be rehomed.  She is a big knitter but she says she thinks she should be a bigger walker than she is ???? and so she’s hoping that with the company and motivation of a new four legged friend she’ll start to get out a bit more.

We were delighted to introduce her new Visiting Wag Team after only a couple of weeks waiting;  our volunteer Dawn Storey heard the story and really wanted to share her lovely greyhound Steed with Alison.  They already love each other’s company and this week Alison gave Steed lots of cuddles whilst Dawn decorated the top of the Christmas tree and shared mince pies!  Lovely!

They’re already planning short walks to the green across the road when the weather improves!
